The Anaheim Packing District proudly announces the opening of its latest artisan eatery, URBANA, set to open next week with a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for 3pm Thursday, August 27th with special guest, Mayor Tom Tait, officiating.

Owner Javier Cuadra was born and raised “in the belly” of Mexico in Zamora, in the culture of the Michoacán with an abundance of delectable street food. After exporting seasonal organic berries from Mexico to the States, he dreamed of owning his own restaurant and now, teamed with the artistry of Chef Ernie Alvarado, has turned Michoacán street food into a hearty and healthy addition to the Packing House family. Using 100% natural and fresh ingredients including handmade tortillas, gourmet tacos and snapper ceviche, Mexican cuisine takes a colorful twist.

Complimenting the menu, Urbana’s bar offerings boasts tequila and Mezcal favorites as well as top shelf agave spirits and a wild spin on craft cocktails.

Massive but smiling Day of the Dead mural walls, a tribute to Javier’s Michoacán upbringing where Dia de los Muertos is celebrated, define the cozy restaurant. What better setting to enjoy Nachos Libres, Enchiladas Suizas or Arrachera Steak Tacos. “Our 'Catrina' murals were made by well known graffiti artist Samir Evol. Our hanging ‘calaca’ in our ‘shrine room’ are made by an old man from Michoacán. He hand makes them once a year for ‘dia de los muertos’ out of papel mache.” Javier states under the 10’ skull.

Current hours for URBANA eats are 11:30am-10pm daily; bar open till midnight. 714-502-0255.
